Naturally desert-proof
The architects found a technically feasible solution for the building's exterior design by using the use of the Argeton façade system from Argeton. After all, it is in the nature of clay building materials that they are resistant to the impact of very high temperatures and other weathering influences. They are also impact- and break-resistant and maintenance-free.
More than 12,000 square meters of facade elements were used. To withstand the permanent wind load in Bahrain and the resulting pressure distribution on the structure, the elements were stiffened by bonding them together. In addition, special box profiles were developed that can also better absorb the wind load. These solutions ensure a special load-bearing capacity of the facade elements.
Light and privacy protection
The three-meter-long, lightfast and UV-resistant elements had to be assembled from three parts. They protect the interior of the building from the glaring sunlight and at the same time act as a privacy screen. The products used were Barro Ellipse 300/50 and Tampalite 300/24. The color concept is elegantly restrained. Light grey, iron grey, cream, silver grey and platinum geay harmonize in gentle alternation and with few contrasts.
With the integration of the new building into the existing infrastructure of the hub airportand the passenger terminal opposite, ADP Ingénierie was able to add architectural value with the innovative façade solution, ADP Ingénierie was able to create added architectural value.
